FURNITURE
Table and chair legs should be
wrapped to maximize scratch
protection. Assembled tables should
be placed upside down with the legs
pointing upward. Chairs should be
stacked side-by-side with the seats
touching with plastics sheets or
paper separating them. Avoid leaning
or stacking furniture against
outside walls.
METAL OBJECTS
Protect your tools and bicycles
from rust by oiling them before
storing. Store away from exposed
items to avoid oil staining.
FRAGILE ITEMS
Wrap in paper or cardboard
separately before storing in dish
pack box. Stuff the box with paper,
including the bottom, so that there
are no empty spaces in the carton.
Plates, saucers and bowls should be
placed on their sides in a dish pack
divider kit for increased security.
Label everything!!!
BOOKS AND VALUABLE PAPERS
You should use file boxes for
your important documents. Pack your
books into boxes horizontally and
stuff the empty space with paper to
stop movement. Books are heavy and
can tear through the bottom of a
box; don't overfill cartons. A
plastic sheeting over the pallets
will keep your books moisture free.
LARGE APPLIANCES AND EQUIPMENT
Your refrigerator and freezer
should be clean as well as dry.
Moisture and mildew will cause
substantial damage to your
valuables. Leave the doors to these
appliances slightly ajar. Store
smaller items within these
appliances if space exists.
CLOTHING
Store your clothing in wardrobe
boxes. Their size allows you to use
hangers which save the shape of your
garments.
